Meeting began promptly @ 7pm with Roger moderating. 7 members were present. (As time went on, there were 10 members and two ACLC guests in attendance). Thank You all who attended.
GUEST ANNOUNCEMENTS
ACLC announcing their 15th annual leather contest “FETISH”. Meet & Greet Friday, July 21st @ the Turf Club (22519 Main St. Hayward from 7-10pm) Contest on Saturday, July 22nd @ Hill and Valley Club (1808 B St. Hayward from 6:30 - …..) and Sunday brunch. Please look at the website www.acleather.org for more info.
ACLC is asking SCCLA to participate in the opening of Saturdays contest by filling the stage with scene fetish play. The Lady Hilary, I believe, will take the lead on this. But don’t quote me. OH!! I just quoted myself. So look for invitations to volunteer.
CLUB REPORTS
Membership – 38 current members. Membership expires the end of May. 2 new applicants. Wyatt is holding until new membership revisions are finalized and membership is due.
Treasury – Posted on-line. General $1,194.88, Operating $813.81, BDF Charity $1301.48, Travel $263.85 for a total of $3574.02.
OLD BUSINESS
Movies – “Original Pride” (Apr 7) approx. 24 attendees. Raised the Backroom fee + $50 for the BDF “Brokeback Mountain” (Apr 25) approx 12 attendees. Only enough raised for Edges fee. SmO (Eric) provided refreshments Edges would like to be a part of more. In order to make this worth while there will need to be a greater attendance of a minimum of 20 RSVP. Special thanks to Wyatt for organizing these viewings and driving over the hill. And thanks to all those who attended and added additional tech & socializing support.
Yoga – Classes begin Tuesday, May 16th from 5:30 – 6:45pm. Every Tuesday for 7 weeks. Cost is $56 for complete series (recommended) or sliding scale $10 – 14 @ the door. Walk-ins welcome. www.defrank.org/services/workshops/2006_05-06_yoga.html
Monthly bar social schmooze – 1st Friday of the month @ the new Renegades 8-11pm located on the corner of Coleman & Taylor. 10 members in attendance May 5th. Love the Renegades new décor.
Monthly dinner social schmooze – 2nd Thursday of the month. May 11th dinner to be held @ Pasta Pomodoros. I didn’t catch the time. Stephanie is making bookmarks with SCCLA’s 3 monthly event reminders.
SCCLA Activities Report – This report was requested by the BDF when we first became a membership organization under their umbrella. This was supposed to be supplied quarterly letting them know what we’ve been up to. The board and concluded that this report is no longer necessary.
Sponsorship of EDGES Web hosting – Edges is having someone else maintain their website so this is no longer on the table.
COMMITTEE
Anniversary Party May 13th – volunteers still needed. Please contact Wyatt. 46 seats reserved by members, guest RSVP 24. We will plan for 90. Check with BDF on local organizations to donate left overs to. A $ estimate for the following: dinner $350., bar $220., invitations $??., and awards $200. There will be no event pins. Award selection is done and Dave C. has ordered plaques. Bar servers will need to sign a BDF Alcohol Policy which Wyatt has.
Gay Pride (June 11) San Jose – We currently have 3 people committed to marching. The President of the Pride committee, Andy, joined us approx 8:30 to discuss the festival situation. In a nutshell, she can only offer us 1 (maybe 2) booths, a 8 pre-entry passes and adequate space should we be able to come up with our own demo type tent. Is there a desire for any members to take this on OR be a part of Sunday Pride festival event should someone else take it on??? Andy’s email is

Club Picnic July 15th – A group site has been reserved @ Stevens Creek Parks located near the 280 & 85 junction. Rod promised to start posting details and coordinating. Stephanie has offered a crocket and bouchy ball game for the picnic.
Leather Weekend Sponsors – Still looking for a venue. Many have expressed wanting to use EDGES. But there is issues regarding attendance and address advertising. Possibly e-tickets/weekend Passport.
NEW BUSINESS
Online presence – SCCLA live journal. We must make sure this is cannot be accessed by non-members. Lance to ask Jason to convert SCCLA website to wiki & clarify password/account requirements. SOMEONE needs to look at archiving current info in case we loose the yahoo site……who will own it? Voted to cut the discussion list and LW2003 list.
Membership Changes – Apply in person w/ photo ID. , two current members must have signed the prospective members application and must commit to 2 hrs of volunteering every year to any of SCCLA’s events.
Oneline volting – Any polling must be open for atleast 7 days. The polls will have the choices of “Yes, NO and I do not have enough information”. Simple majority of all votes to be counted. 50% +1 required. In meeting votes, majority rules.
Voted and approved to purchase ½ page advertising for $75 dollars (less 20% 501c3 discount) for ACLC’s Fetish handout. Wyatt to lead this.
