SCCLA Business Meeting Minutes

ANNOUNCEMENTS

• Santa Cruz Pride is on Sunday, June 4th.

• Wednesday, June 7th @ 8 pm is a “Leather Identity” workshop presented by Lady Hilary @ the Citadel ($20).

CLUB REPORTS

• Membership

  • 38 current members.

  • All Memberships expired at the end of May.

  • Submit Renewal Applications and dues to Wyatt (updated application is available on website)

  • Members who have not renewed by the end of June will be removed from the SCCLA Members Yahoo Group

• Treasury

  • Report Posted on Members List

  • General $840.78, Operating $813.81, Travel $65.33 for a total of $1,719.92.

  • Dave C. has $50.00 from the sale of club patch – there are 21 patches remaining @ LeatherMasters.

OLD BUSINESS

  • Attendance is averaging 15.

  • Next classes are Tuesday, June 6th & 13th from 5:30 – 6:45pm. and willl be held upstairs and NOT in the ballroom because the BDF is a Voting station for the primary - GET OUT AND VOTE

• Monthly bar social schmooze - 1st Friday of the month

  • @ the new Renegades, 9-11pm , located on the corner of Coleman & Taylor.

  • 12 members in attendance May 5th

  • Next Bar Schmooze is on June 2nd, @ Renegades, 9-11pm

  • We need a couple of SCCLA folks to commit to be at the July Bar Schmooze, Contact Lady Hilary

• Monthly dinner social schmooze – 2nd Thursday of the month.

  • June 8th dinner to be held @ House of Pizza from 8 – 10 pm located at 527 S. Almaden Ave., San Jose 408-292-6882.

• SCCLA Activities Report – This report was requested by the BDF when we first became a membership organization under their umbrella. This was supposed to be supplied quarterly letting them know what we’ve been up to. The board and concluded that this report is no longer necessary.

COMMITTEE Reports

• Anniversary Party

  • Major success and FUN.

  • Approx. 68 people attended.

  • The cost was $1,331 but because of donations only $354 will come out of the SCCLA budget.

  • There was $87 in bar donations.

  • Decision on whether or not to hold an Anniversary Party next year’s dinner tabled until Jan 2006

• Gay Pride (June 11) San Jose

  • Lance, Bobbie & Omega committed to marching in Parade

  • Please show up @ 9 AM @ San Fernando & Market (behind Washington Mutual Bank).

  • SCCLA will have no presence at the Fair this year

• San Francisco Pride (June 26)

  • smO may have a booth. Again, there seems to be no commitments regarding Marching or help attending booths.

• Club Picnic Saturday, July 15th – 11 AM start.

  • Volunteers needed. Please contact Lance.

  • Rod to provide directions to site ASAP.

• Leather Weekend “Elemental Edge”

  • We agreed upon to pursue EDGES as the venue for the entire event.

  • Kevin agreed to produce the weekend programm Dave C will handle adverstising sales,

  • Lady Hilary is lead on demos & classes

  • We need a lead for the portion of the community fair

  • We need a show Producer, several individual were suggested, Dave will approach them

• SCCLA Website – Switching to wikki next week. Contact Jason for a login & password to edit the site

NEW BUSINESS

• ACLC Contest

  • SCCLA agreed to purchase ½ page advertising for $75 dollars (less 20% 501c3 discount) in the Contest Program

  • Wyatt will create the ad

  • Hilary is Lead on the Opening Fantasy

HOUSE KEEPING

• Looking for next quarter (July, August & September) moderator

• Wyatt to Scribe for July, August & September.

• With such low business meeting turn out we will not be requesting snacks or beverages.
