SCCLA Business Meeting Minutes

• Kinky Karnival - Wyatt (for Zifra)

  • October 21, 2006 @ Edges

  • SCCLA Participation would equal:

    • run a karnival game booth (funds raised will be shared)

    • 1 volunteer for 1.5 hours to serve as event staff

    • 1 raffle prize donation

    • 1 fantasy to be performed between 6-7 pm that eve.

      • We agreed that we can commite to everything except the fantasy. The Karnival game will be our "Wheel Of Torture". Wyatt to contact Zifra to see if this is acceptable.

• smO Folsom Fringe committee requested that SCCLA provide the presentation of colors. Loren has agreed to take lead on this.

Club Reports:

• Membership Report - Wyatt

  • 24 members, $240 in dues was turned over to Loren

  • Membership cards have been printed (Omega has them)

  • Position of Membership coordinator has been turned over to Omega

• Treasury Report - Loren

  • We currently have between $1300 and 1,600 in our account. Loren has found what might be a 2-300 discrepency in the accounts which she will investigate.

    • General Fund: $780.78

    • Operating Fund: $813.81

    • Travel Fund: $65.33

  • BofA has changed the type of account we have and is now charging us $12/month. Loren will investigate to see if we can find some way to eliminate this in the future.

Old Business:

• We need a Business Meeting Moderator for September - no volunteers

• ACLC Contest Opening Fantasy July 22 - Wyatt/Lance (for Hilary)

  • Bob and Joan won the titles, SCCLA Fantasy was awesome! great feedback

• Community Picnic July 15, 2006 - Lance

  • new location worked well, more private, about 20 showed up, everyone had a great time.

  • We may be operating on an old model where we had to worry too many folks showing up. We may want to consider a more open model for next year in which we are less restrictive in RSVP requirement and post the location.

• Edges Demos July 29, 2006 - Lance

  • Good feedback on Demos from Edges and attendees. Edges is intersted in doing this again in the future

• Update on LLW Cocktail Party 8/12 - Wyatt (for Hilary)

  • No SCCLA Cocktail Party at this year LLW

• Bar Schmooze is tomorrow, Friday 8/4 - 9pm at Renegades - Kevin & Andy will host

• Dinner Schmooze is next Thurs 8/10 - 8pm at House of pizza - Stephanie

Committee Reports:

• Leather Weekend Nov. 3-5, 2006 - Dave C.

  • Dave trying to align demos, classes to involved the 4 elements

    • Potential demos/class suggestions:

      • Loren/Jeff T.: fire play (fire)

      • Domina: piss play (water)

      • Omega: water torture (water)

      • Travis: casket (earth)

      • Seth: breath control (wind)

      • Stephanie will approach Gayle Rubin about a class on leather history

  • Weekend Guide: Kevin - which will include munches, local clubs, advertising.

New Business:

• Rubber leather pride braclets - Lance

  • we agreed to purchase 150 (@ $1.44 each) out of the operating fund. 50 will be allocated to give to members. 100 for sale at $5 each. Profits will go to SCCLA.

• Leather Archives - Lance

  • A request was posted to interview folks in the community 15 or more years.

  • Members suggested that Dave C. and Wyatt agree to contact Rick about being interviewed on the queer southbay leather community. If anyone else is interested please contact: Rick Storer @ rick@leatherarchives.org
