Meeting began promptly @ 7pm with Roger moderating. 6 members were present. (As time went on, there were 12 members and two new faces in attendance). Thank You all who attended.

CLUB REPORTS

• Membership

  • 38 current members

  • Membership expires the end of May.

• Treasury

  • General $1217.78

  • Operating $804.71

  • BDF Charity $1255.98

  • Travel $263.85

  • Other $254.50

  • Total of $3796.82.

OLD BUSINESS

• IRLM 3/11

  • Received “Great Job” and appreciation from IRLM on SCCLA/smOdyssey security and attendance.

  • Thanks ALL around.

• Pet Show 3/17

  • $509.00 raised for the animal (Can't remember the exact name of the recipient).

• Yoga

  • Still in the works. Proposal submitted to Sondra with the BDF & yoga instructor Connie.

  • Possible start date in mid May & possible a weekly class.

COMMITTEE

• Movie Night “Original Pride

  • to be shown @ the Back Room / Pierce Ink @ 7pm Friday, April 7th.

  • Thanks Wyatt for organizing and making this happen.

• Anniversary Party May 13th

  • 12 volunteer shifts needed to be filled. Please contact Wyatt.

  • 45 seats reserved by members.

  • Invitations to non members have been mailed. They must RSVP by April 15th.

  • If there are to be awards, voting on the nominations will be done between April 13th & May 4th.

  • There has been no progress/report on an event pin for this dinner.

  • No physical deposit check is required to give to the BDF. A written agreement that we will be liable $200 if we do not clean up after ourselves.

  • Again, Thank You Wyatt and ALL the Volunteers.

• Gay Pride – San Jose –

  • Need confirmation from Sage that the parade marching application has been processed & all is in order.

  • SOMEONE??? is to poll the membership on inviting other groups to march with us. (Sorry, I really didn't catch all of this one. Please chime in with the details).

  • Also, the Pride Committee is asking for $1250 for a booth.

    • The attendees of this meeting would like for Sage to respond to the Pride Committee that we are unable to find a sponsor under such short notice and will need to decline this years Pride Festival participation, perhaps next year.

    • Thank you in advance & past Sage for talking to Pride/Gary Walker Productions.

• Gay Pride San Francisco

  • The BDF has been chosen as a Grand Marshall and is asking SCCLA to march in the S.F. Parade.

  • Congratulations BDF.

• Club Picnic July 15th

  • A group site has been reserved @ Stevens Creek Parks located near the 280 & 85 junction.

  • More details and pictures to follow.

• Leather Weekend Sponsors

  • Dave does have sponsors lined up and Kevin has indicated that the sponsors are wanting a tall format for the weekend guide.

• Pride Ride – CANCELLED

NEW BUSINESS

• Purpose of Schmooze

  • Voted and approved to change the 1st Thursday “Schmooze” to “SCCLA Business Meeting”.

  • First 15 minutes to be allocated to non members and guests for introduction & announcements.

  • The meetings are to remain open to all; unless, an executive session is needed.

  • Further discussion to be held online regarding socializing events.

    • Non bar events – Stephanie

      • Bar events Lady Hilary and the Marine.

• Membership age

  • Voted to leave “as is” with no further discussion for two years or UNTIL it becomes an issue with a present perspective member.

• New applicants

  • We currently have an application for membership from someone whose name is not recognized.

  • Wyatt will email asking what SCCLA event this person has attended and if they know any current member by name.

  • We will further discuss online how to handle future situations like this.

• Membership renewal

  • online discussion will be established to address member's past attendance and further membership.

• Edge

  • Attendees voted to authorize Loren to investigate/negotiate ($12 per month max., 3 month) with the new south bay play space “Edge” on sponsoring/advertising on the “Edge” web site.

  • Loren will report back possible deal details.
