Ms/Mr Santa Clara County Leather, Sage and Khol

About Sage, Ms. SCC Leather

I have identified as kinky since childhood. Even on the elementary school playground, during those delicious games of chase and capture, I felt compelled to interact honorably, playing by mutually agreed-upon rules of the game. It just seemed right. At some point in puberty, fate delivered me a pair of gorgeous Zodiac boots. That began my sensual love affair with actual leather, the look, the feel, the delicious smell of it...

Through the beginning of my adult life, the whole kink thing was just an internally growing bank of fantasies and spurts of erotic poetry. It wasn't until I had the guts to dabble in the kinky personal ad world that I began to suspect that there was a veritable cornucopia of intelligent, articulate, cute, clever, sexy, kinky folks in the world with whom I might connect. What a concept! In the early 90's, a kinky witch friend introduced me to the Society of Janus. Not long after joining, I became Communications Officer and volunteered to lead orientations. (Oh, and some of those erotic poems actually got published in Janus' Growing Pains...)

Recently, I graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in (not surprisingly) Communication Studies. My primary independent study interest is Communication and Niche-group Sexuality. In the last few years, I have increased active involvement with the Santa Clara County leather community, attending local munches, volunteering for the 2003 smOdyssey Folsom Fringe event, and currently acting as printed calendar maven for the smOdyssey group.

I am passionate about safe, sane, consensual erotic power exchange, a strong proponent of education, practice, and of course clear and compassionate communication. I strive always to be a safe resource for those who are interested in learning about "what it is we do". I encourage questions and exploration. I want to open minds and turn fear and ignorance to acceptance and understanding.

Finally from my contest speech:
"I love my sexuality. It is a creative, powerful, motivating force. I am not ashamed of my desire to be wanted, to want it rough, to dance on and dangle over the edges... From that place of joy, I celebrate YOUR desire to be wanted, your ability to dangle over the edges... As Ms. Santa Clara County Leather, I want to take that celebration to a more visible level with events that celebrate and bring together the entire Leather community. I think Leather represents power. So, what better tribute than to celebrate and unify, to grow the power? And that is what I stand for as Ms. Santa Clara County Leather, 2004."
About Khol, Mr. SCC Leather

I knew I was gay since before puberty. On my 21st birthday, I went to the Boot Rack in San Jose and met a Leather Master and went home with him. After that, I wasn't into leather... leather was into me! My parents purchased my first leather jacket. They didn't know what it was for back then, but they do now!

A key learning experience for me was being in relationship with a non-leather guy. For about four years, I put my leathers away because I loved and wanted to honor him. It was hard and I learned that Leather is a part of me I cannot just put on the shelf. After the relationship ended, I immediately returned to leather. It's what I know. It's what I love.

If I had a nickname, it would be "The Fun Master" because I believe that whatever floats yer boat is sacred. I don't want to stand on a soapbox and preach. I believe a good time is to be had by all. Let the good times roll. I take that to heart because life is too short. We're only here for a short time and we dishonor ourselves if we don't make the best of it. Enjoy!

More about me... I am a native Californian, born in Redwood City. Typical Pisces - break up with me and I go crazy. Currently, I'm single and open to whatever comes my way. I like the look and the feel and the smell of leather. Somebody dressed up in leather, all hot... makes MY boat go. I got into fisting about 2 years ago; it's always been a fantasy of mine and now it's not a fantasy anymore! Oh, and I love cars big time! Love motorcycles too. I'm a proud owner of a Harley Davidson.

I collect Fiestaware (I'm such a queen!) and love to cook (I make an especially mean pork tenderloin). For a while, I bred Basenji dogs. Now I have one named Raela... who's older than dirt (13 years old!). I enjoy working on other people's houses, not my own -- perhaps I am the wannabe Leather Carson of the Fab Five. I ADORE shopping for leather.

I enjoy good music and dancing. Oh, and if you want to know about my drag days, you'll have to drag it out of me... (used to be Anastezia - "careful, she's gonna knock you out").

I am a proud member of Mama's Family (Mama's Kilt Boy) and participate in lots of fundraisers. Also, I participate as part of the SF Imperial Court. I work part-time as Snatch's secretary and am a facilities manager by trade (currently seekng work!). I used to work for the airlines and still love airplanes. I'll be doing a lot of traveling to leather events this year, starting with Mr. Hoist in England this January.

Needless to say, I am looking forward to IML, even though it scares me.
